Lake Navarino Holiday Park is around an hour and half’s drive south of Perth. It’s in an idyllic location on the shores of Lake Navarino, a lake created by the Waroona Dam, which was built in the 1950s to provide irrigation for the local farmland. The holiday park offers cabins and camping sites, and also retains the original cottages that were built for the engineers who worked on the dam, which are now available as accommodation. Illegal repeaters/boosters abound.  They can block mobile signal reaching your neighbours, and they can even bring down phone towers cutting signal to thousands of users. Penalties for operating illegal repeaters range from fines to jail terms.

Cel-Fi products differentiate themselves from illegal products by being in the public forum; the product is supported with product reviews and media releases etc.  You will find the illegal companies do not do this.

Find below a letter from the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) listing the companies who sell illegal products: Mobile Repeaters Australia, Signal Boosters Australia, Amplify Australia.  They operate virtual premises and phone numbers that look like they are based in Australia or New Zealand, in reality they are based overseas making it very hard to shut them down.  Ebay has also recently banned all illegal repeaters from sale on their platform.

Business Profile

Minimbah State School is an Independent Public School established in 1997 with a current enrolment of over 800 students.  The school name “Minimbah” means “place of learning” in the local Aboriginal dialect Gubbi Gubbi language.

In particular, lack of mobile coverage affected the School’s ability to run their business via their wireless EFTPOS machine in the administration office – payments were not always able to be collected causing problems with parents and staff alike.

As Cel-Fi GO is only able to boost one frequency band at a time, a way of indicating and switching between frequency bands was developed by using a button. The button enables the selection of 3G, 4G/4GX or AUTO (band with strongest signal). An LED indicator displays which band GO is currently boosting.

Once Cel-Fi GO is powered up the LED status indicator will flash a variety of colours to indicate it is going through a boot up procedure.
