“Everyone is looking for mobile signal when about and enjoying the great outdoors.  We all have our own reasons for wanting it, and some people will go to great lengths to get it…….”

Freelance journalist Gary Tischer (otherwise known as Outdoor Gaz) drove his recognisable FJ Cruiser into the outback, on a mission to test Cel-Fi GO.  Cel-Fi GO is the first legal repeater produced for use in vehicle applications – from your FJ Cruiser to your caravan, your car and even your boat.  It is widely available – in fact it is possible to receive delivery within 24 hours of ordering!

On the back of many enquiries, we recently introduced 4 variations of Caravan Packs comprising of the Cel-Fi GO Stationary model and differing antennas depending on the caravan and the application.

Leading Edge Electronics Store in Geraldton specifically wanted one for their client who was travelling around Australia in their caravan.  Various options were discussed with the supplier with the final version selected being the Omni Caravan Pack.  This pack included: Stationary Cel-Fi GO, Blackhawk Marine Omni High Gain Antenna inc mount (7/10 dB) + 10m LMR240 cable & Indoor Wall Mount Antenna, 6m RG58 cable. Inc 240 adaptor (optional 12V if requested).

Feedback from the clients Joe and Robyn was extremely positive:

Prior to installing the Cel-Fi GO in their 21″ aluminium caravan, Joe had an occasional 1 bar reception which would allow texting only.  Robyn had no reception at all with a Telstra handset designed for regional use.

Business Profile

Minimbah State School is an Independent Public School established in 1997 with a current enrolment of over 800 students.  The school name “Minimbah” means “place of learning” in the local Aboriginal dialect Gubbi Gubbi language.

Business Needs

The administration building had a history of poor mobile coverage which meant that staff and visitors to the main office and reception, the staff room and the sick bay were not always able to connect.

In particular, lack of mobile coverage affected the School’s ability to run their business via their wireless EFTPOS machine in the administration office – payments were not always able to be collected causing problems with parents and staff alike.

Share this PostShare on FacebookTweet about this on TwitterShare on LinkedInShare on Google+Email this to someone

As Cel-Fi GO is only able to boost one frequency band at a time, a way of indicating and switching between frequency bands was developed by using a button. The button enables the selection of 3G, 4G/4GX or AUTO (band with strongest signal). An LED indicator displays which band GO is currently boosting.

Once Cel-Fi GO is powered up the LED status indicator will flash a variety of colours to indicate it is going through a boot up procedure.
